Gabi is probably THE sweetest and most mature 15 year old girl I have met, and boy does she ever have the most glowing smile… oh, and did I mention her DRESS!?

Once in a while I get an opportunity to capture family events, milestones, bar mitzvahs, Sweet 16’s, and sessions outside of weddings, that really are just as important in the history and memories of a family’s story. Gabi’s family contacted me to photograph not just her Sweet 16, but her Sweet 15, an ode to the traditional Latin-American tradition of a Quinceañera, mixed with an embrace of their North-American upbringing – I thought it was such a cool idea and way to mix the two!

I love it when families bring in a little bit about themselves, and what’s important to them, at their events – in this case, the merging of their Latin and North American cultures. The Quinceañera was held at the Bridgewater Marriot, in Bridgewater, NJ, with amazing decoration by Debbie’s Designs that really made the place pop! The dance floor was booming the entire time, both adults and kids, which is my favorite way to capture a party.
